Situated high on a hilltop amid the eastern slopes of the Green Mountains (2,400 ft.), the inn commands panoramic views 100 miles to the east, which inspired the poet Miriam Andrews to write:

Surrounded by 10 acres of landscaped flower gardens, lawns, fields and a wooded forest, COOPER HILL INN offers peaceful seclusion for a ‘Weekend Getaway.’ We are also a popular spot for weddings and special events. Originally a farmhouse built in 1797, today the inn is a sprawling colonial home with 10 individually decorated rooms. Gracing the south and east side of the inn is a large covered porch. Start your day with a hearty New England Breakfast and cool, clean mountain air. Relax in the evening with a glass of wine by the fire or on our deck with a spectacular sunset over Mount Snow.

Whatever the season, you will find COOPER HILL INN to have an inspiring beauty all its own. During spring and summer you can relax in the yard or enjoy outdoor games such as volleyball, horseshoes and croquet. From late September to the end of October, colors of red, gold, and crimson burst forth in their varied splendor. There is no better place in the area to view the spectacular fall foliage than right here at COOPER HILL INN. It is the perfect time of year for a chairlift ride up the mountain, or just browsing quaint local villages, taking in a craft fair or enjoying a local harvest festival.

The inn is also a perfect destination for many workshops, small business or spiritual retreats, family gatherings and reunions, and wedding receptions throughout the year.

In winter time, the immediate area around the inn is excellent for cross-country skiing, sledding and we have direct access to snowmobile trails. Mount Snow and Haystack, just minutes from the inn, provide some of the best downhill skiing in the east (ask about our Ski Packages). Also nearby are four cross-country ski touring centers, guided snowmobile tours, sleigh rides, skating and a sledding hill.

When you come in from the cold, you are welcome to enjoy our Yamaha upright piano or read a good book by the fire, or make yourself at home in any of the other Common Areas in the inn.
